Artist Statement
My focus on New England landscapes, seascapes and boats as subject matter derives from a passion for sailing and the outdoors. As a result, my paintings chronicle the places I love … Nantucket, Stonington, Mystic, Maine, and other coastal communities. The viewer is invited to step into the painting and share my perspective to experience the beach or harbor, sail or slack, marsh or mountain. Although a classically trained artist, I try to capture contemporary angles and viewpoints while integrating a creative color palette and stroke.
